Gulf Air has recently achieved three ISO certifications for its IT operations, including Quality Management, Service Management and Information Security Management Systems.

The airline, Bahrain's national carrier, is the first to qualify for all three certification in the region.

Following a comprehensive internal and external audit conducted by RINA Services, a leading classification society, Gulf Air was awarded the ISO 9001 Certification (Quality Management), ISO 20000 Certification (Service Management) and, for the second year in a row, the ISO 27001 Certification (Information Security Management System).

Maher Salman AlMusallam, acting chief executive officer of Gulf Air said: "Quality, service and security are three of the most important facets of customers' online experience. As such, Gulf Air continually strives to safeguard and enhance these three areas across the organisation - including our critical Information Technology component. We are delighted to achieve yet another ‘first' in our IT offering and pleased to be recognised for our team's work in further helping to achieve customer satisfaction."

Dr. Jassim Haji, Director of Information Technology, Gulf Air, commented: "These three ISO certifications are a reflection of the airline's efforts to monitor, measure, control and improve the quality of delivered IT services, apply best practice IT service management with a benchmarked approach to continuously improve our service delivery and, importantly, implement proactive measures to safeguard the integrity, confidentiality and availability of information. These are all essential components in ensuring we satisfy our passengers in terms of IT quality, service and security."

Andrea Di Bella - RINA's Middle East Area manager added: "It is a true pleasure, for RINA to recognise a company such as Gulf Air that, seeing technology as a key contributor to the airline's sustainable development, has worked to develop an efficient management system tailored to the business processes, to maintain and constantly improve performance. RINA is delighted to support Gulf Air in its journey of continuous performance enhancement with regards to quality, environment and safety related issues."
