Du, Samsung partner on smart homes Du will sell Samsung Smart TVs in its branded stores to subscribers.

Dubai-based telecoms operator du has announced an extended strategic partnership with Samsung Gulf Electronics on Smart Home services.

The telco has said it will work with Samsung to develop a Smart TV application for its multiscreen solution and customers will also soon be able to purchase select Samsung Smart TVs directly from du Shops when applying for their home service subscription.

“In a truly smart environment, consumers’ lives are enhanced by the cutting edge technology that drives connectivity,” said Vinod Nair, general manager, TV Business, Samsung Gulf Electronics. “We are very excited about our partnership with du, which will empower the people of the UAE with the convenience of converged services at the click of a button, powered by the leading home services provider and latest smart TV technology.”

“Our collaboration with Samsung will enable a smart revolution in our customers’ homes, by empowering them with access to a more integrated and convenient lifestyle,” added Fahad Al Hassawi, chief commercial officer, du, said. “Smart TVs are a key element to a smart, connected home and Samsung is leading the way in the development of smart technology. Our partnership is in line with our understanding of our customers’ desire to adopt the latest technology trends.”
