Dubai Metro operator Serco Company has awarded a maintenance contract for its wireless network to Nedaa Corporation.

Under the one year contract, Nedaa will provide periodic and corrective maintenance of 50 transmission stations on the Red and Green Lines of Dubai's mass transit system, and round-the-clock monitoring for any malfunctioning or emergency failures. The contract also includes revamping the telecoms network of the metro stations

Chris Rayner, managing director of Serco, and Mansour Bu Osaiba, deputy chief executive officer of Nedaa Corporation, signed the contract in a ceremony at Dubai's Roads & Transport Authority (RTA).

Abdullah Yousef Al Ali, acting CEO of Rail Agency said that cooperation with Nedaa which will contribute to the upgrading of the metro's communication network to the highest standards reflects integrated keen efforts to share practical experiences, adopt industry-leading practices, and provide top class services in the field of security and safety.

Serco's Rayner said the contract contributes to enhancing the efficiency of the wireless network of the Dubai Metro on both Red Line and Green Line, and represents a step towards broadening joint cooperation with other entities in delivering better services.
