Xerox today announced the release of its FreeFlow Digital Publisher, a solution that allows digital document production and distribution for Web and mobile platforms from the same workflow as the documents' hardcopy versions.

Developed in partnership with GTxcel, FreeFlow Digital Publisher allows content creators to create electronic versions with added video, audio and live hyperlinks, delivered in multiple formats and orientations.

"This gives readers the most out of the reading experience of materials such as magazines, manuals, marketing collateral, brochures, books, annual reports, catalogues and newsletters," Xerox said in a statement.

The solution is a workflow tool aimed at varying sizes of operation, from small independent print shops to large multi-national production companies. Built on Web-based architecture, it is modular and scalable, offering "the flexibility and capability to easily produce complex applications through an intuitive graphical user interface that connects simply to existing systems", according to Xerox.
