Acer unveils the 2-in-1 Aspire Switch 10 notebook Aspire Switch 10 notebook features notebook, tablet, display and tent modes.

Acer has unveiled the 2-in-1 Aspire Switch 10 notebook, which features notebook, tablet, display and tent modes as well as a magnetic detachable Acer Snap Hinge design for easy transition between modes.

Notebook mode allows the device to be used as a fully functional notebook PC with full-sized keyboard and touchpad. Tablet mode allows the device to be used as a tablet for browsing the Internet and viewing movies. Display mode enables the user to switch the screen to show content such as a presentation files or to share photos. And Tent mode is designed for watching movies in confined spaces such as an airplane while travelling or on a side coffee table.

The Acer Snap Hinge, which is designed to let users switch smoothly between the four modes, features a magnetic detachable design for latch-free docking, two hooks to hold the tablet firmly to the keyboard, and a two-way connector for dual position viewing.

The tablet can easily be connected or released from the hinge with a magnetic force capable of holding up to 2.8 kg in weight.

Weighing up to 1.17 kg, the Aspire Switch 10, is less than 8.9 mm thick in tablet mode and 20.2 mm with keyboard docking, the 10.1-inch HD touch display with IPS technology provides wide viewing angles of up to 178 degrees.

Featuring Zero Air Gap technology and Acer LumiFlex, the Switch 10 comes with up to 64GB of onboard storage and 2GB of RAM powered by Intel's Atom (Bay Trail T) quad-core processor. The optional integrated hard-disk offers additional storage of up to 500GB.

The notebook runs Microsoft Windows 8.1  and comes pre-loaded with Office Home and Student. It includes features such as InstantGo, which keeps data and apps up to date even when the screen is off by maintaining an Internet connection along with an efficient power-saving feature.

Built-in AcerCloud means users can access and manage their data anywhere and AcerCloud apps offer real time information, data management, data security across multiple devices for immediate synchronising.

Optional accessories include the Acer Snap Case that protects and packs the tablet and keyboard for easy carrying. A micro HDMI-VGA cable connects the tablet to a monitor, projector or TV supporting720p/1080i/1080p resolution, while the micro USB cable serves as a connection and charging hub.
