Building on its global technical services and training expertise, Ingram Micro Inc has announced that it has been selected as an authorised IBM Global Training Provider (GTP).

As an authorised IBM GTP, Ingram Micro becomes one of only five companies authorised to provide the complete portfolio of software and systems courses from IBM Training.

Under the agreement, Ingram Micro Training will launch its new IBM Training in Europe, Asia Pacific and North America in the second quarter and then expand its IBM services worldwide to approximately 100 countries.

In Middle East and Africa, Ingram Micro's Aptec will launch the full portfolio of IBM training in stages across the region from now until mid 2015, the company said

"Ingram Micro has long recognised the value of training to both our customers and our manufacturer partners," said Dr Ali Baghdadi, president and CEO, Ingram Micro MEA.

Baghdadi added that: "Training drives more revenue-rich sales, greater value to end-user customers, and empowers solution provider partners to deliver the full promise of technology through advanced skill sets and more robust utilisation of products."
