Globally 76% of IT leaders believe that security is the biggest obstacle to enabling employees to choose the best technology, so security has become a ‘ministry of no’, according to Chris Moore, regional sales director, Middle East at security expert Blue Coat.

“One of the biggest security changes that is happening with internal employees is that they are bringing their own devices, and with the availability of lightweight, mobile and cloud apps, that can make them really productive, but the IT departments, especially the security departments and our customers, often block that,” he said.

When a company is allowing its employees to bring their own device and access external applications the enterprise needs to look at how to implement BYOD very closely, but still allow  it, explained Blue Coat.
