SAP appoints Qatar country manager Helmy: The road ahead is filled with potential.

SAP MENA has announced the appointment of Mohamed Helmy as country manager for Qatar.

Reporting directly to Gergi Abboud, managing director, SAP Gulf, Helmy will be chiefly involved in supporting SAP's expansion in Qatar, which the company said is one of its key strategic markets in the region.

Helmy has more than 20 years' industry experience and is expected to place a strong emphasis on catalysing emerging innovations such as analytics, mobility, cloud and in-memory computing.

In particular, Helmy brings experience related to eGovernment, telecommunications, oil and gas, energy and utilities. He has held several senior leadership positions most recently in STRS where he managed its Middle East & Africa operations. In addition he has held senior roles at Cisco, BPL Global, Oracle and Microsoft.
