Value added services (VAS) are becoming increasingly important for telecom operators in the Middle East, and to this end, Globitel is focusing on this area at GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK.

“For operators, value-added services (VAS) are where the bulk of revenue resides. When utilised correctly, VAS are imperative profit-generation tools that spur the subscriber to use their phone more and allow the operator to increase their average revenue per user,” the company says.

VAS takes the personal aspect of mobile telecommunication to another level, aiding in lowering subscriber churn while simultaneously attracting new subscribers, according to Globitel.

Another key service is Missed Call Notification, which detects when the subscriber is not available to receive calls, and then logs the calling party’s number and time of call for every attempt made to the subscriber, and notifies the subscriber by SMS when he/she becomes available.
