Laserfiche will this week unveil Laserfiche 9, which is designed to unite enterprise content management (ECM) and business process management (BPM) functionality across the Laserfiche product line. Laserfiche 9 provides Web-based forms that extend business processes to the point of capture and functionality specifically designed to increase executive oversight of business processes.

Laserfiche Forms, the centrepiece of the Laserfiche 9 release, is designed to enable both IT and business units to easily break processes down into tasks in a way that everyone understands. The new Laserfiche Business Processes in Laserfiche 9 are ‘super workflows’ that are designed to provide more options for task management and process reporting. The vision for Laserfiche 9 was to better enable transactional content management through tighter integration between ECM and BPM capabilities.

Laserfiche Forms, the e-forms component of Laserfiche 9, extends business processes to the point of capture, getting information into the right hands. In addition, the BPM tools in Laserfiche 9 give employees more information about their tasks, providing them with customised instructions for the actions they need to take at any stage in a business process.

Laserfiche has developed its product line in-house, with the aim of creating software that’s useful, usable and affordable. To reduce the need for expensive programmers or consultants, the company tries to organise regular user groups, training sessions, webinars and community forums. Two blogs are run with the goal of educating and engaging the user community.
