Samsung Electronics may unveil its curved smartphone by the end of the week, according to a report by TechRadar.

Citing South Korean site asiae.co.kr, TechRadar named the new device as the Samsung Galaxy Round. Apparently "Curve" was already taken. Samsung announced last month that it would be unveiling the device some time this month.

An unnamed Galaxy device has previously been itemised on testing records, bearing the same Snapdragon 800 processor and Adreno 330 graphics chip resident in Samsung's recently released phablet, the Galaxy Note 3.

Little else is known about the Round. Some online media outlets have assumed that its curved body means the device will also be flexible, after Samsung's showcasing of a bendable display in January at CES 2013 in Las Vegas, but commercial readiness of that technology may be several months away.

Samsung's domestic rival LG also has a curved handset in the works. Current reports expect this device, known as the G Flex, to debut in November.
