Dubai-based telco du will stage its first Cyber Security Conference on 19 September at the Armani Hotel Dubai.

The event will bring together industry leaders to discuss hot topics and trends affecting online security. Du's CEO, Osman Sultan, will present an opening speech, followed by keynote speaker Marc Maiffret, CTO of BeyondTrust.

The one-day event will also include talks by Ahmad Al Mulla, vice president, Dubai Aluminium (DUBAL); Saeed Belhoul, director e-Government operations, Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), and Samir Omar, MEA business development manager, Verizon.

"Cyber security is an increasingly relevant topic in a world that is relying more and more heavily on connectivity solutions to make life and business easier than ever before. Given the preference for companies to turn to managed and cloud-based solutions for the convenience and savings potential they present, we realised that it was especially important at this time to inform and educate the UAE's security business leaders on how to protect the infrastructure of electronic intrusions and protect information, while encouraging discussion that will lead to the development of the cyber security sector in the UAE," said Marwan Abdulla Bin Dalmook, senior vice president, technology security & risk management, operations, du.

"Security must be integrated into the very fabric of an organisation, and it takes a security-conscious organisation such as we are to ensure that every level of cyber protection is met," he added.
