As part of a wider strategy to cement its mobile solutions array, Logicom has signed a distribution agreement with China-based ZTE Corporation, a manufacturer of smartphones and tablets.

Under the agreement, Logicom has been granted regional distribution rights for ZTE's smartphone range across the region.

ZTE said through Logicom's distribution experience, consumers in the UAE and entire Gulf region will now have access to the company's smartphone portfolio.

"As the world's fifth largest smartphone maker, ZTE believes that the Middle East market is one of the fastest growing regions worldwide for the mobile industry. Our cooperation with Logicom is a step forward for us to ensure that quality products with the best features reach end-users," said Zhang Rui, marketing director, ZTE Corporation.

Rui added that the deal will play a pivotal part in cementing the relationship with Logicom and will ensure the company continues to offer a variety of mobile devices to the regional channel.

Logicom stated that the addition of ZTE Corporation to its vendor list further strengthens the diversification and growth strategy it has embarked on.

Demetris Demetriou, general manager, Logicom Dubai, said: "By signing the agreement with ZTE, Logicom is entering the mobility segment, which is growing at a rapid pace. We would like to thank ZTE's management for trusting us with their brand. We are also looking to add new mobility products such as tablets to our portfolio."
