China-based Huawei's ICT solutions arm Huawei Enterprise today announced it has signed a channel partnership agreement with UAE-based Telematics, adding the systems integrator to its authorised partner network in the region.

The partnership agreement was signed in anticipation of regional market growth in the unified communication (UC) segment. According to a recent report from Frost & Sullivan, the Middle East UC market is expected to reach $ 235m by 2014.

"Huawei's channel partner programme plays a vital role in our overall Middle East business strategy where Qatar and the UAE are some of our fastest growing markets," said Dong Wu, vice president, Huawei Enterprise Middle East.

"Telematic, part of the BMTC group, brings valuable insights into key vertical industries such as finance, hospitality, and government. Together we look forward to bringing the latest in unified communications technologies to customers throughout the region."

Huawei has appointed Telematics as a silver-level channel partner, citing the UAE-based company's customer base and placement in UAE and Qatari markets. The agreement covers Huawei Enterprise's unified communication and collaboration (UCC) portfolio, specifically IP telephony, call centres and video conferencing. The collaboration will target large-scale enterprises in the government, transportation, aviation, hospitality, and education sectors.

"We chose to partner with Huawei Enterprise because of the company's wide range of products, history in the telecom business and its interactive channel team," said Rajev Dutta, general manager, Telematics.
