Dubai-based telecoms operator du took its foray into managed security services a step further today by introducing a range of premises-based security infrastructure solutions in addition to its existing cloud-based security services.

The new line-up of services, based on SecurView's Casper platform, is designed to offer advanced threat management and mitigation capabilities.

The announcement follows the recent launch of du's cloud-based DDoS (distributed denial of service) Protect solutions.

Du has also recently launched its Managed Services Security Operation Centre, which is hosted and managed by the telco. The company has been steadily building a portfolio that it hopes will allow it to compete in the regional cyber security arena, which has seen robust growth in the past year.

The company currently offers services in: unified threat management (UTM); email and content security; vulnerability assessment and penetration testing; managed firewall, IDS/IPS; security incident and event management (SIEM); and security consulting.

Organisations of all sizes need a suite of managed security services including [on-premise solutions]," said Fahad Al Hassawi, chief commercial officer, du.

"New products complement our existing portfolio of security products, which includes Distributed Denial of Service Protect. We can now enhance our customers' existing security and IT teams to provide real-time security event monitoring and management, which in turn brings cost savings, improved security posture and our service assurance."

"Between du and SecurView we provide customers with access to some of the best security people, processes and technology that exist globally," said Feras Tappuni, managing director, SecurView.

"Our objective is to extend the power of our Security Operation Centre to our customer premises and for us to place the benefit our expertise in their hands. In doing so, we empower our customers to focus on their core business, reduce cost and exposure to security threats, while we take care of their security management."
