UAE-based EMS to spearhead BlackBerry BYOD solution
Dubai mobility solutions firm named regional partner for BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10
UAE mobility solutions company, EMS, and BlackBerry yesterday announced their collaboration on distributing BlackBerry's enterprise mobility solution in the Middle East with BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10.
EMS is an authorised reseller of BlackBerry smartphones and accessories in the region, supporting 100 mobile phone operators in 56 countries across the Middle East, Africa, CIS, Eastern Europe and South East Asia.
"In high-penetration markets like the Middle East, it makes sense for enterprises to find ways to drive efficiency, scalability, flexibility and transparency in their mobility solutions, while putting the device at the centre of everything they do," said Babar Khan, CEO at EMS.
"Our expertise is second to none when it comes to the implementation and support for the BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 solution, and we are very pleased to work with our enterprise customers to roll out, upgrade and truly enhance their corporate mobile services with BlackBerry."
BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 is an enterprise mobility management (EMM) solution, offering mobile device management, mobile application management and secure mobile connectivity for BlackBerry 10 smartphones, as well as iOS and Android devices, through Secure Work Space, which separates apps and data used for work from those used for personal purposes.
"BES 10 allows customers to fully experience the functionality and flexibility expected from a bring-your-own-device policy, while meeting CIOs' security, reliability and cost-efficiency requirements," BlackBerry said in an emailed statement.
BES 10 customers in the Middle East include Etisalat, Emirates NBD and Emirates Airlines.
"Where multiple devices, ownership models, applications and operating environments exist, BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 perfectly balances end-user and corporate needs to keep workers productive," said Chris Corsi, country director at BlackBerry.
"It eliminates the need for IT departments to configure and manage expensive VPN infrastructures, which are typically required to provide mobile device access to data and apps residing behind a corporate firewall. As our strategic channel partner for the region, EMS has extensive experience with the BlackBerry solutions to deliver on our new enterprise mobility management solution, BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10, locally."
