Info2Cell.com, a Dubai-based provider of mobile apps, has signed a deal with a partner in Thailand to launch its products and services in the country.

Bashar Dahabra, founder and CEO, Info2Cell, confirmed to CommsMEA that the company had already signed a deal with a local partner and would launch its range of business-to-consumer products in Thailand "in the next two months with all operators".

Info2Cell's partner is a Thailand-based international IT company specialising in mobile services for businesses.

Info2Cell sees strong potential for growth in Thailand and other countries in South East Asia. The company pointed to a recent report from GfK Retail and Technology which stated that smartphone sales in Thailand will grow by 110% in 2013 to 7.5m units. Smartphones will account for almost 50% of all phones sold in Thailand by the end of 2013, the report added.

"We are very upbeat with our planned expansion into South East Asia, particularly our entry into Thailand, which represents a rapidly growing mobile market," Dahabra added.

"We are set to tap into Thailand by leveraging our proven B2C services such as quizzes, games, trivia and other SMS and online competitions across a massive potential subscriber base. Our entry into Thailand is part of our continuing global expansion initiative that not only aims to increase awareness of the Info2cell.com brand, but to also reinforce our position as a key provider of world-class apps, solutions and services."

Founded in 1998, Info2cell.com was the first provider of value-added mobile phone services in the Middle East. The company has access to more than 40 GSM operators and more than 100m mobile subscribers across the MENA region.
