Verdict: The decision to stay focused on its four focus areas that include traditional channel, retail, corporate and export business has delivered a solid sales figure for Trigon. The distributor added a few product lines and with plans to expand into other GCC markets in the offing, Trigon is aiming to build on this solid performance come next year.

What are your strategic plans for the rest of 2013?

The major challenge for us is to consolidate the current business which we will continue to hold on to by cementing our relationship with our partners. In addition, we will expand the product portfolio targeted at the B2B sector.

What were the main drivers for your revenue growth in 2012?

Our strategy to expand into KSA through strategic alliances and the addition of new products like Acer’s notebook and PC range contributed to revenue growth during 2012.

Has the distribution sector recovered from the market instability in the region?

Yes, the distribution sector has recovered substantially during 2012 but regional political instability in key markets is still having a negative effect on the segment. Most of the UAE based distributors have their growth prospects linked to the regional marke, so the negative growth factor still hovers over most companies.

What will drive your business growth in 2013?

Trigon wants to focus more on the value-adding business. Regional expansion plans are in place and the feasibility study has been concluded.
