Verdict: As a new entrant in the Power List, Global Distribution’s decision to focus on extending its business into Africa is yielding results. With uncertainty in some markets in the region, the company has continued to augment its IT distribution business by providing in-country IT services and support to partners. The company is also taking steps to diversify its business into the mobile space.

What are your strategic plans for the rest of 2013?

We are looking at expanding our operations through acquisition of business entities in Africa and Iraq. At this moment we are in an advanced stage with two significant IT players.

What were the main drivers for your revenue growth in 2012?

Diversifying into the mobility segment contributed to our revenue growth in 2012. We also invested significantly into in-country services of the region.

Has the distribution sector recovered from the market instability in the region?

The market is still mildly turbulent. However, on a positive note the market has recovered somewhat although it still has some distance to cover before we can say it is out of the “woods”.

What will drive your business growth in 2013?

Investment in pre- and post-service infrastructure in the region, offering terms to mobility channel players in the region, educating partners and developing our mobility channel will contribute positively to our business growth.
