Verdict: FDC has bounced back after dropping two places in the pecking order in 2012. The company has attributed the solid figure this year to the contribution its notebook business has made to the overall revenue and business growth.

What are your strategic plans for the rest of 2013?

We will be creating new business units that will focus on mobility (tablets and smartphones), and lifestyle products. We will also be expanding our existing business in new market and geographies.

What were the main drivers for your revenue growth in 2012?

Majority of our business and revenue growth last year came from the notebook segment. We have reputable brands in this space and we are optimistic about the future of this business in the region.

Has the distribution sector recovered from the market instability in the region?

Although the sector has seen improvement, there are still challenges that are hanging over the regional IT distribution industry. Overall as a sector, it hasn’t fully recovered.

What will drive your business growth in 2013?

I have to reiterate that revenue and profitability growth are important to our business. That said, achieving them both isn’t easy and will not happen unless vendors are ready to support the IT distribution segment with strategies that aim to achieve revenue and profitability growth.
