Verdict: Redington has again retained the top spot in this year’s Power List survey, posting an impressive $2.123bn sales revenue figure. The distie has continued to grow its products and markets. With more growth plans underway, not only has Redington got the essentials needed to dominate, but will be hard to displace.

What are your strategic plans for the rest of 2013?

We have outlined an aggressive growth plan which includes intrinsic growth in mature businesses, new business growth from new products or geographical expansion and upgrading the existing SAP back-end infrastructure to meet the changing requirements of our operations.

What were the main drivers for your revenue growth in 2012?

We succefully executed partnerships with key Asian PC vendors and that resulted in increased market share for both Redington and the vendors. We also made investments in the value add business in West and East Africa, and KSA. We also saw growth in the KSA across consumer and enterprise sectors.

Has the distribution sector recovered from the market instability in the region?

We are present across a wide region and each region faces different challenges such as currency fluctuations, political developments and economic factors. We grew our channel base to over 12,000 partners.

What will drive your business growth in 2013?

We will be expanding into new product categories for our Volume and Value businesses, and continue to drive a breadth of initiatives in the channel. In addition, we will broaden the array of vendor offerings for the Value business.
