How did the company start and what is its history to date?

Reichle & De-Massari (R&M) is an independent Swiss family business with more than 48 years of experience in the information and communications technology market. Since its founding in 1964, Reichle & De-Massari has grown into one of the leading providers of passive cabling solutions for high-quality communication networks. Reichle & De-Massari  is now a multinational organisation that is represented by subsidiaries or its own marketing organisations in well over 30 countries.

What does Reichle & De-Massari do?

R&M develops and manufactures passive cabling solutions for high-quality communication networks (Layer 1) which contribute significantly to operational reliability and safety in voice, data and video transmission systems worldwide. Our high performance cabling solutions are used in offices, data centres, by network operators, in homes and in industry. We continuously reinvest in our R&D capabilities in order to drive innovation. Annually, R&M invests 5% of sales into the research and development of both copper and fibre-optic cabling systems. This has enabled us to offer an extensive product portfolio spanning over 5000 customisable products.

What is your presence in the Middle East region?

We have been present in the Middle East for 15 years and have invested in the region. We believe that strong engagement with our customers is key to understanding their needs and the nuances of the markets in the Middle East. We have established a local presence in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Qatar, Oman, Iraq, Egypt and most recently Turkey. Our headquarters in Dubai, at the Dubai Airport Freezone, has transformed from being a sales office to a regional operations hub. This headquarters has state-of-the-art training facilities and lab equipments that enable us to regularly host hands-on partner enablement and training sessions as well as client training seminars. Last year we inaugurated the region’s first patch cord assembly facility which, in addition to meeting regional demand for this versatile cabling solution will also serve our customers in the Asia Pacific region.

What are your regional corporate goals?

Our objective for the Middle East has been to establish ourselves as the structured cabling vendor of choice for telecoms providers, public and private sector organisations and to capitalise on opportunities by offering the most innovative products with the highest Swiss quality and high customisation.

Our focus over the last two years has been on the data centre market and we are set to release R&M uniPhy, a ‘unified physical network management solution’ designed to provide accurate, real-time monitoring of physical layer connectivity for data centres. We also intend to capitalise on the growing Fibre to the Home (FTTH) segment with the introduction of our Venus FXXL solution with an integrated Single Circuit Management System (SCM) and the FO field connectors.

With our strong focus on copper cabling, we remain the market leader in the office cabling sector as well and will increase our market share with the introduction of new and innovative products.
