Imaging specialist Canon Middle East this week announced it is supporting its partners with the extension of its imageRUNNER ADVANCE range following the launch of two new compact black-and-white multifunctional devices (MFDs).

Canon now expects partners will be able to meet a wider range of "document handling challenges" with the company's expanded range.

Hendrik Verbrugghe, marketing director, Canon Middle East said, "Our partners need to meet the increasing demand for compact imaging solutions that help busy workgroups to work more efficiently as well as addressing concerns around security, management efficiency and cost control."

The new imageRUNNER ADVANCE 400i and 500i A4 devices combine imageRUNNER ADVANCE output and capture capabilities in a "compact" design. End-users can print from any Google Cloud Print-enabled Web-connected device, or scan to and print from iPad, iPhone and Android mobile devices.

The uniFLOW platform offers configurable document workflows to larger organisations or more demanding environments. UniFLOW is designed to provide a secure platform for users to print from any device to any networked MFD.

Canon emphasised that the imageRUNNER ADVANCE MEAP and MEAP Web application platforms will allow partners the opportunity to develop customised applications for the new devices to automate and optimise end-to-end output management and capture document workflows of businesses of all sizes.
