Etisalat rolls out HD fixed-line voice service All eLife customers will automatically qualify for free national calls and the HD voice service without any change in monthly rental charges.

UAE telco Etisalat will offer free nationwide fixed-line voice services to eLife and standalone fixed-line telephone customers from July 1.

Etisalat also claims to have launched the region's first HD voice service for eLife subscribers and will release a lineup of HD telephones to support the scheme.

All eLife customers will automatically qualify for free national calls and the HD voice service without any change in monthly rental charges. However, standalone landline customers will pay AED 39 per month for HD voice.

Rashed Al Abbar, vice president, home services, Etisalat, said that HD voice would "alter the customer call experience forever".

The new services are part of an effort by Etisalat to breathe new life into fixed-line services and capitalise on the AED19bn ($5.17bn) it has invested in its in nationwide fibre-optic network.
