Saudi Arabian fixed-line data provider, ITC, has stressed on its website that it is in no way affiliated with SITC, a separate company which was forced to shut down last week following two years of concerns over its financial health and trading violations.

In a statement posted on the home page of its website, ITC, said: "This is to clarify the confusion in the media between Integrated Telecom Company (ITC) and the Saudi Integrated Telecom Company (SITC). For that ITC is a separate legal entity which operates completely and independently from SITC with absolutely no impact on ITC's business continuity to provide customer support and services over its national and international telecom infrastructure."

ITC, which was founded in 2005, was licensed by the Communications and information Technology Commission (CITC) as a data service provider. The company has been operating for seven years serving government sector, enterprises, banks, oil and gas and major telecom operators in the region.
