Images claimed to be of BlackBerry's budget BB10 model, the R10 have made an appearance on tech sites across the Internet.

The images were first posted on Chinese website, dgtle.com. While the material has since been removed, other sites have reposted the pictures.

The photos show a device that appears to be similar in design to the market-pleasing BlackBerry Curve handset.

Canada-based BlackBerry, now rebranded to carry the name of its industry-shaping smartphone, made a push for the dried-up premium market with high-end handsets based on the reengineered BlackBerry 10 platform. The touch-screen Z10 and the Qwerty-based Q10, launched earlier this year, are aimed at developed markets.

With the R10, BlackBerry will most likely look to gain traction in markets with emerging affluent consumer bases, such as China, India, and South American and African nations.
