Westcon Group Cisco-specialising VAD Comstor today announced it has attained all four of Cisco's newly established architecture-centric specialisation badges.

"This will now enable Comstor in focusing on each of Cisco Architectural Plays and in turn to drive this focus into the channel," the distributor said.

"The Middle East is a mature IT market and we are seeing that customers no longer demand point products or even solutions," said Renton D'Souza, divisional director at Comstor. "Instead, they are interested in seamlessly integrated turnkey solutions, which are precisely what Cisco is now addressing with its new architecture-centric approach. We are award-winning partners for this global networking leader with a deep understanding of all its networking, collaboration, security and data centre solutions. The achievement of these architecture badges not only further strengthens our expertise in these fields but also instills more confidence in our partners and customers about our capabilities,"

Cisco accredited distributors have to meet a range of requirements, including training and certification of both sales and technical personnel.

"The distribution accreditation will drive a consistent standard of knowledge and expertise throughout Cisco's channel to market," said Philip Wright, senior director, Cisco.

"This ensures that the end customer has access to our solutions through a qualified source. We are pleased that Comstor has achieved all four accreditations and has shown long-term commitment to growing their business with Cisco."

"We now have in excess of ten sales and three technical staff that have been trained and certified by Cisco," said D'Souza.

"Furthermore, the POC equipment from Cisco gives us unmatched hands-on expertise. For example, the data centre POC kit permits our technical staff to gain in-depth knowledge of Cisco servers and data centre switching products. While this has represented a significant investment on our part, we are confident that it will greatly enhance the services that we provide to our customers."
