Apacer launches high-speed USB 3.0 flash drive The AH450 comes with ACE compression software, said to expand storage capacity by up to 500%.

Apacer has launched its high-end AH450 USB3.0 flash drive, said to be capable of transmission speeds of up to 140MB/s.

"When operating at its maximum speed, the unit can transmit an entire 4.7GB DVD movie in 36 seconds, let alone much smaller picture and music files, which can take mere seconds in comparison," Apacer said.

In terms of its physical design, Apacer uses a silver-plating process to coat the drive's body, giving it "a unique and elegant look that changes dynamically with the viewer's perspective". It uses a sliding push-key design that facilitates single-handed operation and avoids the accidental loss of a USB flash drive cap. Its strap hole allows users to carry or attach the drive for the purposes of portability.

Apacer's AH450 flash drive will be available in capacities from 16G to 128GB with the higher 64GB and 128GB capacities launching later in Q2, 2013. The unit's maximum effective operating speed is dependent on available computer hardware and software resources.

The drive comes with exclusive ACE compression software, which is said to expand the storage capacity by up to 500%.
