Financial services software company Misys today announced the Middle East launch of its next-generation Misys Portal v5, a corporate online banking solution that promises to improve local banks' financial supply chain, trade and cash management services.

Misys claimed an industry first in allowing banks to provide access to these services through the portal via mobile devices. Through specifically designed apps on the portal that support Android, Blackberry and IOS compatible devices, corporate customers can access, manage and control transactions from anywhere and at any time, Misys said.

"We continually work closely with our clients to help them meet the needs of their customers," said Wisam Mahmood, global product director, Transaction Banking, Misys.

"We are delighted to be the first company to introduce support for mobile trade finance and cash management through specifically designed apps for all types of mobile devices. Our portal solution is offered to customers as a standalone, best-in-class, commercial online banking solution but is also available as a fully pre-integrated addition to Misys' range of core banking systems."

Misys Portal v5 is designed to deliver a consolidated view for a corporate treasurer across all transaction services and payments. The portal also provides pre-packaged scenarios that help banks to establish supply chain finance programmes more quickly. Time to market is a key factor in the success of these programmes and these scenarios are geared towards enabling smooth and rapid project implementations.

"Banks recognise the importance of offering their corporate customers an online banking service that integrates cash management, trade and financial supply chain management and FX/MM requirements," said Misys.

"With the highly flexible portal, banks are easily able to extend the range of services they deliver to their customers across trade, cash and the financial supply chain, depending on their requirements."

Version 5 also includes enhanced cash management features, such as bulk payments (covering salary payments, mass payments, collections) and collections/deposits.
