UAE telco Du has launched a special plan exclusively for Emiratis who work in the private sector.

The Absher Plan was launched in partnership with the Absher Initiative, which was inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.

The Absher Plan comes in three denominations to suit the needs and lifestyle of Emiratis employed by the UAE private sector. Customers will benefit from unique numbers and special rewards on local and international calls, in addition to exclusive annual discounts of up to AED1,500 ($408) on smartphones.

The plan is the first of its kind specifically designed for Emiratis working in the private sector, giving them a range of value-added benefits in support of their contributions towards the UAE.

The plan is in association with the Ministry of Presidential affairs and Ministry of Labour under the Absher initiative, which aims to encourage Emirates to work in the private sector .His Excellency Humaid Bin Demas Suwaidi, Undersecretary, Ministry of Labour said: "The Absher Initiative, launched by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, can play a significantly impact in encouraging UAE nationals to join the private sector. This is especially true given that Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, the Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, announced 2013 as the year of Emiratisation."

Why this double standard ? Arent expatriates deserve this also for their contributions towards building up emirates
