UAE electronics outlet Jumbo Electronics today announced it has recently been honoured by Sony with a "Service Excellence Award".

The prize was awarded to Jumbo for its "consistent commitment to high quality customer service while supporting after sales service, call centre, delivery and installation and other channel partner services" said the retailer, which operates a number of collection and service centres across the UAE .

 "We are honored to have received the Service Excellence Award by SOMEA [Sony Middle East and Africa]," said Jaishankar Krishnan Nair, head of Jumbo Service.

"This award recognises our commitment towards customer service across the Jumbo network. In order to reinforce our customer focus, we will shortly launch a customer survey campaign in partnership with SOMEA at all customer touch points. This exercise will enable us to get an in-depth understanding of all customer needs and expectations and further help us align our process and service deliveries in the right channel."

Jumbo's Jebel Ali service centre, which operates the 800JUMBO customer support number, covers a number of brands across several categories and receives in excess of 10,000 calls each month, according to the retailer.
