Network specialist Ciena Corporation announced that its ‘Mobile Innovation Lab' is revisiting the Middle East, showcasing its latest equipment and demonstrations to customers.

The current tour includes Riyadh, Abu Dhabi, Dubai and finishes in Kuwait at the end of March.

Following the first tour in the region just over a year ago, Ciena is returning with a schedule for 30 show days. Clients are invited to gain hands-on experience with Ciena's technologies and meet experts for in-depth discussions. Visitors can also view a range of demonstrations of Ciena's solutions for 40G/100G, Carrier Ethernet, assured networking and cloud computing.

"Ciena's Mobile Innovation Lab will allow visitors to assess the performance of technology in real life scenarios, view demos and also find out how ISPs, telecom operators and enterprises can build networks to meet ever evolving business requirements," said Mervyn Kelly, EMEA director for Ciena.

"The success and positive response garnered by last year's tour encouraged us to bring the truck back to the Middle East for our customers. A new addition this year is the cloud computing demo, which shows how to use low-touch setup for protected cloud access."

Ciena's roadshow truck has its own ‘passport' called an RAC Carnet, which details all technical equipment on board. The truck has clocked 2,000 miles since February and over 45,000 miles since 2011, visiting over 70 venues with a total of 149 event days.
