HAAD rolls out Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1 HAAD has improved a number of processes through the use of Oracle E-Business Suite.

The Health Authority of Abu Dhabi (HAAD) has improved efficiency and speeded up processes with the deployment of Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1.

The authority is using the Oracle ERP solution to enhance and standardise processing across a number of areas, with benefits including a 20% reduction in customer service transaction workload; fivefold average acceleration of processing, automation of the requisition cycle and cutting the monthly financial closing process from 10 days to 3 days.

"Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle Business Intelligence improved the resiliency of our back-office processes, resulting in faster turnaround times for customer transactions," said Ali Mohamed Al Ali, IT manager, HAAD. "We have achieved tremendous savings in terms of manpower and costs and optimised our entire operation while improving customer satisfaction, both internally and externally.

"We rely on Oracle technology because it provides us with process- and policy-driven workflows that enable quicker and very accurate decision-making and much faster process turnaround times," he said.

HAAD estimates that the self-service capabilities will save 800 work hours and 25,000 sheets of paper per year. HAAD increased the performance of its front-office processes, driven by third-party applications that are uploaded into the data warehouse every night, by 80%, on average, and facilitated strategic decision-making through in-depth analysis capabilities.

The authority also gained benefits in areas such as automation of paper-based purchasing, cutting approval cycles from five days to one; automation of the requisition cycle which cut the process from an average 25 days to 5 days; accelerated invoice processing and reduced costs; and accelerated monthly closing processes from ten days to three.

Oracle partner Capgemini Consulting, Middle East & Africa, implemented the E-Business Suite, while Raqmiyat is providing support for the Oracle applications.
