EMC to roll out Isilon storage in Qatar hotel
La Cigale selects NAS solution for CCTV installation
EMC Corporation announced this week that La Cigale Hotel, a five-star unit based in Doha, Qatar, has selected EMC Isilon as storage solutions provider in deploying its IP CCTV surveillance system.
"EMC's Isilon storage solutions are tested and certified with leading video management software [VMS] vendors at the EMC eLab, renowned for conducting rigorous interoperability testing," said EMC.
"This ensures customers can focus on video surveillance and not the technology enabling it."
The solution is designed to provide cost-effective, highly scalable nearline storage using the NL-Series that combines high density with massive capacity and is, argued EMC "an ideal data archive platform making it ideal for large video surveillance deployments".
According to EMC, on implementation La Cigale Hotel will be one of the first five-star hotels in Qatar to have successfully complied with recent Ministry of Interior regulations that mandate the use of a CCTV security networks across business organisations in order to standardise security levels across the country.
"EMC's Isilon scale-out NAS platform for high performance, capability, and scalability allows La Cigale Hotel the ability to scale its storage from 6TB to a massive 10PB without adding any complexity to their existing environment," said EMC.
"It also brings faster data management and automated load balancing while actively reducing operational expenses and boosting efficiency with up to 80% in increased storage capacity utilisation; this means more storage with fewer spindles, reducing capital outlay and increasing overall storage efficiency."
