Taiwan-headquartered PC manufacturer Acer, has reinforced its Middle East and Africa (MEA) operations after it named Ali Nemati as the new general manager for its Middle East operations.

Acer said Nemati's appointment is part of a wider MEA plan aimed at delivering sustainable, profitable growth to its channel partner ecosystem across MEA in 2013.

The PC vendor stated that as the company continues to fortify its MEA operations, reseller partners and distributors can look forward to increased support from the global firm, particularly in terms of customised training, certification and sales lead generation.

Acer also revealed that it has embarked on a series of road shows to educate all its channel partners in MEA on its new strategy and channel agenda for 2013.

"MEA remains one of the strongest performing IT markets in the world. Empowering our channel partners in the region and facilitating their growth is instrumental for Acer's continued success. Acer commits to a significant increase in the level of support we provide to our partners to facilitate a dynamic business model that encourages them to be pro-active. Working together, we can capture an even more significant share of this growing, hugely exciting IT market," commented Amin Mortazavi, Acer vice president, MEA.

The company said it will also highlight the crucial role its channel plays in making technology and products available to valued customers across the region.

"Acer's business model has proven to be very successful, and keeping our partners informed, motivated and making them profitable, has remained vital to our sustained growth. Our channel partner ecosystem can look forward to renewed and improved support from Acer," added Nemati.

Acer's channel road shows will visit Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman and Kuwait with the first event is scheduled this month in Dubai.
