Meta Byte unveils virtualisation accelerator Dighe: The solution enables organisations to truly unlock the benefits of virtualisation.

Regional solutions provider Meta Byte Technologies today unveiled a new solution to enhance virtualisation performance in desktop and server environments.

The approach uses Fusion-io technology to eliminate the bottlenecks typically caused in a virtual environment. The Fusion-io component accomplishes this by making terabytes of high-performance, non-volatile memory available within each server.

The Fusion-io virtualisation suite works to enhance capacity and performance of a virtual environment, supporting more machines per server and improving the performance of each virtual machine, and utilising low latency to drive higher throughput of virtual machines and lower operational costs.

According to Meta Byte this leads to "dramatically improved efficiency, consolidation, and scalability to further boost significant performance, and reduce cost and complexity in a virtual environment".

Meta Byte says the product allows performance enhancement even when virtualising the most intensive workloads, including databases.

"In continuation with our philosophy to introduce best of the breed solutions in the region, we are glad to unveil our new solution for virtualisation," said Salil Dighe, managing director at Meta Byte Technologies.

"With our new solution, enterprise in the region can make much more efficient use of their existing IT infrastructure with as much as a tenfold increase in the number of virtual machines each server can support. This enables organisations to truly unlock the benefits of virtualisation in both enterprise compute and desktop environments without the need for massive system upgrades."
