French smartphone health app designer Runware today announced the availability of an all-in-one sports pack that combines a chest strap, an armband and an iPhone/iPad/iPod receiver to deliver a health monitoring system for Apple gadget users.

Runware's first accessory, the Runalyzer, a heart rate monitor for the iPhone, launched in September 2011. The company now specialises in the field of e-health, sport and leisure and is a member of DiabeTIC, a French project that connects manufacturers, hospitals, physicians and university scientists around a single solution to support diabetic patients.

The Runalyzer Sports Pack uses the chest strap to measure heart rate while the user runs and integrates field data such as route, distance, speed, altitude. Athletes are also coached by voice announcements of user-determined frequency, alternating with their favorite music.

"With this solution, we help people of three categories: casual athletes who want to be supported in their efforts, experienced riders who want to measure their performance to improve and finally those who want to keep in shape to live longer and better," said Olivier Pascal, Runware CEO.

"Our strength is that we are compatible with dozens of applications of sports coaching and fitness available in the App Store, some of which are very popular."
