Well I started my career at a very early in the fashion industry back in India. In 1997, I was invited to Dubai by Vasant Menghani, MD at Touchmate to pursue a career in IT. I was quite fascinated with this industry and I immediately got involved. Touchmate was a well-established brand in the region. I initiated the expansion of the product array to cover accessories, peripherals and gadgets.

If you could improve one thing about the channel business what would it be?

IT is very fast changing in our business and it is therefore vital that we create a healthy business environment where channel partners can thrive. Communication with channel partners should always be there keeping all objectives clear for both parties.

What product or technology should the channel watch out for this year?

The most happening products of the season are tablets. Touchmate being a player in this market, has been bringing innovation and recently launched more than 25 new tablet models. The channel should also track products related to tablets, like accessories and applications.

It has to be Apple. In today’s world when the IT industry has been going through tough times, Apple has been successfully enjoying leadership, with its innovation and products.

What is the biggest challenge facing the Middle East IT channel?

Markets in the region have been very volatile in the past few months. We see a lot of instability in neighbouring countries, which is not a good sign at all because business is about building relationships and confidence.

What’s your favourite thing about the company that you work for?

I work for a great organisation as we are all driven by a common objective. Management has given us a vision and great platform to perform. we work as a family.

What sort of interests do you have outside of work?

I like to spend my time with my family and friends, working out at the gym. Though I love my work, I ike to learn about new technology, so I spend my free time reading about new gadgets and trends.
