Zain Kuwait has launched LTE services under the banner Wiyana Connect 4G LTE. The nationwide service will provide customers with the fastest mobile Internet speed in the country, with tariffs starting at KD7 ($24.7) per month for 2 Gigabits.

Customers can use the service with compatible smartphones, tablets, routers, hotspots and dongles, the telco said.

Omar Alomar, CEO, Zain Kuwait, said: "We are very proud to launch the new service that will provide the fastest mobile internet speeds to our customers all over Kuwait exclusively from Zain. This service is available for the first time nationwide."

Kuwait's Ministry of Communications authorised the country's three mobile operators to introduce LTE services on the 1,800 MHz band in October, according to Kuwait News Agency, Kuna.

The operators paid a fee of KD250,000 for their LTE licences.

Alomar said, "Our brand commitment is to give our customers the best services. The fact that we are able to do this is a remarkable achievement and one which we will build upon with the integrity and commitment that convinced our very first customer to believe in us."
