Oracle held "Oracle Day" in the UAE on Thursday to share with businesses from the public and private sectors in Abu Dhabi, the latest technology innovations the company unveiled recently in its Openworld conference in San Francisco, an event regarded by the solutions giant as the most important on its calendar.

Titled "Your Vision, Engineered", the Day brought  a selection of announcements and interactive education sessions,  on how the engineered systems approach would enable businesses in Oman to simplify IT environments so they can operate more efficiently, more cost effectively, and be more responsive to dynamic business needs.

The latest product and service offerings Oracle showcased in the activity included "Customer Experience", which explored harnessing the power of the social network as well as internal resources to maximise customer retention, improve operational efficiency and accelerate new customer acquisition.

Oracle also used the event to highlight its expanded cloud services portfolio and announced that adoption "continues to grow aggressively with more than 10,000 customers and more than 25m users worldwide already relying on the services each day".

Also given mention was Oracle's Exadata X3 database in-memory machine, which uses Flash instead of disk memory. The company also covered a range of application software products including new mobile applications.

"Businesses in UAE are early adopters of technology" said Fadi AbdelKhalek vice president, Cluster Leader Oracle, GCC. "Cloud, mobile, social, and big data are changing the way business is done and the objective of Oracle Days is to give C-level decision-makers the information and insight to help them embrace these technologies."
