Allied Telesis launches SwitchBlade x8112 According to Allied Telesys, the switch has up to 50% less power consumption than its competition.

Secure IP/Ethernet switching solutions provider Allied Telesis has launched the new SwitchBlade x8112, designed for high availability networks.

"This Switch extends our SwitchBlade family up perfectly in line with our value proposition. It is a highly resilient switch that improves Allied Telesis Easy Resiliency solution capability to help enterprises reduce OpEx up to 70%", said Rino Intrieri, Allied Telesis VP of Marketing Service & Support.

The SwitchBlade x8112 features high availability, high density and high performance all in the same chassis, together with low power consumption for its category. According to Allied Telesys, the switch has up to 50% less power consumption than its competition.

The SwitchBlade x8112 represents an extension of the Allied Telesis Stairway to the Cloud resilient solution on a much larger scale, which is designed to fulfil public, private and hybrid cloud needs.

The SwitchBlade x8112 is a 12 slot Layer 3 chassis switch designed to deliver high availability, wire-speed performance, high port count in a small physical size. Allied Telesis easy resiliency features, based on VCStack and EPSRing technologies, furthermore, it is designed to deliver reduced CapEx and OpEx for customers, due to its Active-Active architecture. This new product, along with Allied Telesis' other Layer 3+ switches, is powered by AlliedWare Plus operating system.
