Theatro, a digital AV distribution company, is using Infocomm - the professional AV show running alongside GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK - to reach out to customers and systems integrators in the region.

Theatro is the sole product distributor for US-based Atlona. The portfolio consists of HDMI AV solutions for corporate and private customers, covering a comprehensive range of equipment including cabling, switchers, converters, splitters, signal generators and extenders.

“At Infocomm we have two main aims,” says Anwar Al Atyani, General Manager, Theatro. “Firstly, to educate end users and integrators about the AV technology that is available right now. Secondly, we are looking  for sub-distributors for each country in the regions we operate in, both from the retail and integrator side.”

“We are Atlona’s sole distributor for Africa, Middle East and East Asia. We have the full solution to migrate customers from analogue to digital AV solutions, and of course when you talk about digital you really mean HDMI. We have three collections of solutions: home, professional and commercial. Home is the retail business and we are already signed with 20 brand stores in malls throughout the UAE.”

Theatro is not only about the retail and commercial market. Prior to its attendance at Infocomm the company signed up for another distribution deal - one that takes it directly into consumers’ homes.

“We have recently also been targeting one market directly and that is high-end home theatre,” reveals Al Atyani. “Just before Infocomm we signed with Datasat, creators of the DTS cinema theatre system, to supply the region’s homes with cinema-quality experiences.”

Al Atyani explains that the service to customers forms a concierge-style engagement, where the customer is interviewed for specific requirements and everything is done for them by Theatro. “Any room five by five and above is optimal for the DTS system,” says Al Atyani. “We take care of everything from installation and positioning of the speakers to decoration, painting and the arrangement of chairs.”
