Midis Group and Emerson Network Power have signed a new strategic agreement at GITEX. The agreement will focus on data centre and power solutions, and will combine Emerson’s broad product portfolio, and Midis systems integration expertise and its extensive services team.

Ken Poczekaj, President, EMEA, Emerson Network Power comments: “This is really a marriage between the biggest IT service provider in the region, and the technology and solutions leader in this field worldwide. This is good news for the customer, because this is mission-critical to the continued build out of the technology infrastructure in the region.

“We will work with Midis to provide the bigger solutions for the industry, customers are going hyper-scale, building large data centres and looking for cloud solutions,” he adds.

Sami Abi Esber, President of MDS UAE Group, said that Midis will expand its expertise on Emerson solutions, and will also look to extend the deal to Emerson’s Data Centre Infrastructure Management (DCIM) software, in future.

Esber adds: “We see big data centre projects happening in the Middle East, particularly in the UAE and Saudi, where we see a boom in the co-location business, we are seeing telecoms companies and private companies building big data centres – 3,000-6,000sqm, to co-locate with customers.”
