Huawei is busy demonstrating its growing prowess in enterprise at GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK.

Huawei announced ambitious targets to expand in the enterprise space back in 2011 and the company continues to set strong targets for expansion.

“Enterprise business is really important for our company because this represents the future of our business and a future growth area for our company,” says Scott Sykes, Vice President, Corporate Media Affairs, Huawei.

Last year Huawei’s enterprise business achieved revenues of about $2 billion, but in the next five to 10 years, the company hopes to ramp this up to about $15 billion a year, Sykes says.

“The market opportunity is huge. Every year corporates spend about $1.4 trillion on IT so it is a huge market opportunity,” he adds. “But at the same time the challenge is also huge – we are competing with the IT providers such as IBM, EMC, Cisco, Juniper.”

Visitors to Huawei’s stand in Zabeel Hall can see and experience a range of the company’s latest enterprise solutions including the OceanStor N8500 clustered network attached storage (NAS) system, data appliances, storage technologies, cloud computing, and unified communications.
