Healthimized is a new free health application designed to make booking appointments with your chosen doctor or healthcare provider easier and free of paper.

The app, created by partners Amr Erabi and Nader Bastaki, and supported by the Dubai Internet City In5 start-up incubator, is being showcased at GITEX Technology Week.

Healthimized is designed to allow patients to search for a hospital, doctor or specific field of medicine, for example neurosurgery, via their cell phone or computer. Patients can then see what dates and times the doctor is available and book online in a completely paperless system.

"We will be making things easier for hospitals, clinics and doctors and for their patients by automating the booking process. Doctors will also be able to see the results from patients' previous visits to the doctor," says Erabi.

The Healthimized system also allows patients to log into the system and create a personal profile, once the profile is created, every time they visit a doctor, their information will be entered into their profile, allowing doctors to see a medical history, including any x-rays or tests that may have been done.

The software is currently being rolled out across the UAE in both government and private healthcare providers and co-founder Erabi hopes it will officially launch soon. Erabi also has plans to expand the system to reach across the Middle East.
