STC and Huawei claim world first STC has signed a deal to launch Huawei’s first 4G device.

STC has announced an exclusive launch of Huawei Ascend P1 LTE, the first Huawei 4G device in the world. The device, which was introduced here this week, comes with Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 OS. “STC’s launch of Huawei Ascend P1 LTE, the first 4G Huawei device in the world, is a continuation of the strategic partnership that brings us together with Huawei, and it is an affirmation of STC’s leadership in the telecommunication industry and as a pioneer in digital media solutions, amidst a steadily developing Saudi market,” says Eng. Nawaaf Al Shalani, general manager of corporate communications, STC Group.”

The Ascend P1 LTE is compatible with 4G LTE and 3G technologies. The device features a 4.3” touch screen, at 950 x 540 pixels, and employs Corning’s Gorilla II glass and Super AMOLED HD technologies. The device also features full Arabic language support in addition to the latest Google Services. The Ascend P1 LTE comes fully loaded with a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm MSM 8960 dual-core processor, a 4 GB internal memory, 1 GB of RAM, and an external memory support of 64 GB. It also comes with a 8 megapixels AF, dual-LED flash rear-facing camera, with 30 frames per second picture quality, and a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera.
