Dubai eGovernment Department will this year host approximately 27 government entities at its combined stand of over 2,700 square metres at the Sheikh Saeed Hall. This will allow all government entities to present their respective services in one place. The department intends to illustrate how a fully inter-connected and integrated government operates.

There will be a series of presentations to explain its methodology in the provision of core eServices in Dubai, which include Direct Public Services, Core & Channel Enabling Services, Government Resource Planning Services, Collaboration, Connectivity & Infrastructure Enabling Services, Government Information Network and Policy, Advisory and Knowledge Services for local government entities in Dubai.

There will be considerable emphasis on new mobile apps, including one for mobile payments and the combined Dubai Government app. Government partners will also launch and promote their eServices for various electronic channels including mobile, tablet, computer, phone and kiosk services.

According to a statement, the department uses Gitex to inform, advertise and educate customers about Dubai Government’s more than 2,000 electronic services that can potentially make their lives easier.

Recent achievements include the launch of an upgraded eSupply portal with Tejari for all Dubai government entities; enhancing and upgrading Dubai.ae, the official portal of Dubai Government; and upgrading the Government Resources Planning (GRP) system to a new version of Oracle. The electronic ePay system has generated over AED 2 billion in the first half of 2012 from collection of fees and fines.
