Cisco has updated several key security solutions, and launched new several new solutions to improve the security of data centres.

The new solutions are intended to be able to cater to changing data centre security requirements, including demands for more scalable solutions, protection for both physical and virtual environments, and increased integration with the network architecture, to maintain business integration without security disrupting business processes.

The updates include a major update to the operating system for Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) line, virtualized ASA for multi-tenant environments; data  centre grade intrusion prevention system (IPS); as well as new improvements to the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client to meet the stringent requirements of a more mobile workforce.

Mark Hosking, Data Center and Virtualization Lead for the Middle East commented: "For enterprises to confidently seize the business benefits offered by data centre virtualization and the cloud, security must be seen as the art of the possible, not as a hindrance. As with the rest of your network, we make consistent security a deployment decision that enables policies to work throughout hybrid environments-physical, virtual and cloud-and enables data centre professionals to securely deliver IT-as-a-Service without impeding network performance."
