SanDisk, a specialist in flash memory, will focus on solid state drives (SSD) and solutions for IT enthusiasts as well as the corporate markets at GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK. SSD is used in portable devices such as phone and laptops, and is increasingly finding its way into thin and light laptops PCs, known as Ultrabooks, thanks to the faster boot and retrieval times it offers.

"For us at SanDisk, GITEX is the ideal forum to engage with corporate and business decision makers," says Tareq Husseini, SanDisk's regional sales director. "Our SSD products, which we will focus on during this exhibition, are some of our latest technology leading products available in the market today. The aim is to showcase these products along with our technology partners."

GITEX also offers a platform to engage and interact with value added resellers, integrators and IT solutions providers across the region.

SanDisk has recently appointed a national account manager within the UAE, reflecting the importance of the retail market. A new national account manager was also appointed in Egypt to build and develop the channel and consumer market.

SanDisk's products are used in a range of products, including cameras, smartphone and data centres.

Major mobile phone, tablet and chipset manufacturers use SanDisk's embedded and removable memory in their devices. It operate a number of NAND flash manufacturing facilities in partnership with Toshiba.
