EMC unveils services for Velocity distie partners Assembly services will aid Velocity distribution partners to support resellers with customised solutions, says Coetsier.

Storage mainstay EMC, has unveiled a new assembly services capability for its EMC Velocity distribution partners globally.

The initiative says EMC, is part of a string of channel-centric initiatives that aim at providing qualified distribution partners with training and authorisation to offer their resellers assembly services for EMC VSPEX Proven Infrastructure and other solutions that feature EMC's unified storage systems and next-generation backup solutions.

Following the launch, resellers can choose to leverage their distributors' assembly services to drive faster, easier and more efficient implementations of multi-vendor solutions based on EMC technology for their customers.

According to EMC, the new assembly capability for distributors builds on its commitment to provide choice for how partners assemble multi-vendor solutions. The vendor states that it also enables resellers to accelerate their profitability by focusing on value-added services to more quickly deploy the solution to meet specific customer needs.

EMC said by receiving a pre-assembled, proven solution on-site that has been customised to meet the customer's specific business needs, reseller partners can immediately focus on accelerating the installation and implementation so that its customers can realise the benefits of the solution faster.
